Fine Hand Carving
Liberty Carvings is a supplier of high quality furniture and furniture parts. We have supplied turned and carved finials; tables of numerous sorts; chests of drawers; nightstands; bedposts; headboards; corner cupboards; and highboys.
Of course we prefer to copy directly from an original piece; but we can also work from photographs and/or drawings. We normally work in cedar, maple, or mahogany, kiln dried to under 8% humidity, but we can also work in any other wood which our customer may specify.
In our reproductions we prefer to use the original construction methods; i.e., solid wood panels, solid drawer bottoms, full dovetail drawers, etc. but we do use mahogany or maple veneer plywood for panels if specified.
Whether your need is for a one-of-a kind reproduction of a specific antique or an ongoing supply of carved or shaped parts for your own production, we can provide you with quality furniture at very competitive prices.

This small oval drop leaf table with hand-carved Queen Anne style legs is a reproduction of a 200-year-old style. The table is constructed of solid cedar (a mahogany look-alike) with dovetailed corner joints and solid wood 8-finger hinge joints on the two moveable legs.
Height is 28 ½"; the table is only 13" wide when closed, but opens out to 30 x 36" with the leaves up. It is finished in a traditional mahogany color stain with three coats of shellac.
